Statute: Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Health and Wellness dated March 8, 2011, and pursuant to

Section 65 of

Chapter 42 of the Acts of 2005, the Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act, is pleased to: (

a) re-appoint under clause 65(2)(a), the following persons as psychiatrist members of the Review Board for two year terms commencing April 1, 2011: Dr. Lawrence Buffett of Lower Sackville; Dr. Paul Reynolds of Halifax Regional Municipality; and re-appoint under clause 65(2)(a), Dr. Aileen Brunet of Halifax Regional Municipality, as a psychiatrist member of the Review Board for a two year term commencing June 5, 2011; (

b) appoint under clause 65(2)(b), J. Dena Bryan of Pictou, as a lawyer member of the Review Board for a two year term commencing April 1, 2011; (

c) re-appoint under clause 65(2)(b), the following persons as lawyer members of the Review Board for two year terms commencing April 1, 2011: Marion S. Hill of Kentville; Jan E. McKenzie of Lunenburg, and Robert C. Stewart of Berwick; (

d) re-appoint under clause 65(2)(b), Anne Jackman of Halifax Regional Municipality, as lawyer member of the Review Board for a one year term commencing April 1, 2011; (

e) appoint under clause 65(2)(c), Aileen McGinty of Hammonds Plains as lay member of the Review Board for a two year term commencing April 1, 2011; (

f) re-appoint under clause 65(2)(c), the following persons as lay members of the Review Board for two year terms commencing April 1, 2011: Andy Cox of Hants Milford Station; Bruce Miller of Halifax Regional Municipality; and Susan Torrens of Halifax Regional Municipality; and (

g) designate under clause 65(5), Anne Jackman of Halifax Regional Municipality, as the Chair of the Review Board for a one year term commencing April 1, 2011.
