OIC Text: The Governor in Council, on the report and recommendation of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice dated February 1, 2018, and pursuant to Sections 238 and 239 of
Chapter 10 of the Acts of 1994-5, the Workers’ Compensation Act , and
Section 18 of
Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the
Interpretation Act , is pleased to: (
a) revoke Order in Council 2017-126; (
b) appoint Brian Sharp of Halifax Regional Municipality as a full-time Appeal Commissioner of the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Tribunal for a two-year term effective March 6, 2018, subject to dismissal for just cause; (
c) fix the remuneration of Brian Sharp as a full-time Appeal Commissioner in accordance with a salary range equivalent to the Excluded Classification Pay Plan (EC12) in the range of $74,748.18 to $93,435.42, subject to all applicable enactments, regulations and policies of the Public Service Commission with respect to the Excluded Classification Pay Plan (EC12); and (
d) order that Civil Service benefits be extended to Brian Sharp as a full-time Appeal Commissioner of the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Tribunal on the same terms and conditions as are extended to members of the Civil Service.
