EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Bill would amend the Tobacco Tax Act to implement measures recently announced in the Budget.

AN ACT TO AMEND THE TOBACCO TAX ACT

Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows:

as amended

1. Subsection 9(1) of the Tobacco Tax Act is amended

(

a) in paragraph (a), by deleting the amount "$0.15" and substituting the amount "$0.16"; and

(

b) in paragraph (b), by deleting the amount "$0.15" and substituting the amount "$0.20".

Commencement

2. This Act shall be considered to have come into force on March 31, 2004.
