Statute: Labour Board Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council, on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Labour, Skills and Immigration dated January 21, 2025, and pursuant to Sections 3 and 6 of

Chapter 37 of the Acts of 2010, the Labour Board Act , is pleased to: (

a) reappoint Richard Anderson of Halifax Regional Municipality as an employer representative member of the Labour Board for a term of three (3) years commencing February 4, 2025; (

b) appoint Raffi Balmanoukian of Pictou County and Nancy Elliott of Halifax Regional Municipality as Vice-chairs of the Labour Board, both for a term of three (3) years commencing February 4, 2025; (

c) order that the remuneration for Raffi Balmanoukian and Nancy Elliott be fixed in the following aggregate amounts, payable for their service as a Vice-chair of the Labour Board: (

i) an annual $10,000 honorarium to be paid pro rata, (ii) $300.00 per day for each day Raffi Balmanoukian or Nancy Elliott conducts hearings as a Vice-chair or participates in necessary training, (iii) $150.00 per day for each day Raffi Balmanoukian or Nancy Elliott necessarily attends to the business of the Labour Board as a Vice-chair except while conducting a hearing or participating in necessary training, and (iv) reimbursement for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling the duties as a Vice-chair, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to a member of the civil service.
