OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Finance dated June 15, 2006, and pursuant to subsection 20(
b) of
Chapter 377 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Superannuation Act, is pleased to determine that on, from and after the commencement of employment with the Izaak Walton Killam Hospital for Children (the "Employer") of those employees listed in
Schedule "A" to the report and recommendation (the "Employees"): (
a) the Employees are deemed to continue to be persons employed in the public service of the Province for all purposes of the Public Service Superannuation Act and the service of the Employees while employed by the Employer is deemed to be service in the public service of the Province; (
b) the Employer shall deduct from the salaries of the Employees such amounts as are directed by the Minister of Finance to be deducted from the salaries of employees in the public service of the Province, in accordance with the Public Service Superannuation Act, and shall pay the same to the Minister of Finance, or as directed by the Minister of Finance, and such amounts shall be paid into and form part of the Public Service Superannuation Fund established pursuant to the Public Service Superannuation Act; (
c) where by the Public Service Superannuation Act a matching payment is directed to be made into the Public Service Superannuation Fund by the Minister of Finance or where by that Act the superannuation allowance or other sum is directed to be paid out of the Consolidated Fund of the Province, then, in respect of each of the Employees, the matching payment, superannuation allowance or other sum shall be paid by the Employer and shall form part of the annual expenses of the Employer, and any matching payment made to the Minister of Finance, or as directed by the Minister of Finance, shall be paid into and form part of the Public Service Superannuation Fund; and (
d) any contributions by the Employees and matching payments by the Employer made prior to the date of this Order to the Department of Finance and held by the Department of Finance in trust as a special fund shall be immediately paid over by the Department of Finance to the Nova Scotia Pension Agency for payment by the Nova Scotia Pension Agency into the Public Service Superannuation Fund.
