Reason for Increase: Additional change orders are anticipated to complete the

project, including abatement of hazardous materials not identified during initial

investigations, floor grinding to remove excessive leveling compound, and

contingency for unforeseen work required to complete the project.

Contract: Edmonton - Alberta Innovates Mill Woods - Fuels and Lubricants Safety

Upgrades

Contractor: Delnor Construction Ltd.

Reason for Increase: Additional change orders up to $370,000 are anticipated to

complete the project, including replacement of six exhaust fans to meet code

requirements and costs incurred by the delay, unforeseen architectural, mechanical,

electrical issues for a number of areas above the ceilings and behind concealed spaces

where details were missing or areas were in need of repair, electrical and mechanical

modifications to address fire and building code issues, hazardous materials

remediation for undocumented hydrocarbon spills that have taken place over the years

that penetrated through the floors of coolers and leaks in floor sumps, and

contingency for unforeseen costs required to complete the project.

Contract Amount: $3,048,000.00

Contract: Edmonton - Edmonton Law Courts - Replacement of Plaza Deck

Membrane

Contractor: Lorac Construction Ltd.

Reason for Increase: Two additional change orders up to $320,000 are anticipated to

complete the project. These include extension to the irrigation system on the north

plaza, replacement of slab on the grade

section at the west vestibule entrance,

replacement of membrane and concrete decking at the east vestibule entrance and

contingency for unforeseen costs required to complete the project.

Contract Amount: $1,021,792.00

Contract: Edmonton - Government Centre - Bridge Construction and South Utility

Tunnel Structural Repairs

Contractor: EllisDon Construction Services Inc.

Reason for Increase: Additional change orders up to $300,000 are anticipated on the

project, which include installing temporary access gates with a swipe card reader,

running a permanent fibre optic option line from the Legislature Power Plant,

temporarily removing the gatehouse by the current gate, installing bollards at a

crosswalk to control bike traffic along Gun Salute Road, restoration of the guardhouse

and access gate to its original setup at the completion of the project, and contingency

for unforeseen work required to complete the project.

Contract Amount: $2,024,140.00

% Increase: 17%

Amount of Increase: $340,027.54

Contract: Edmonton - Government House - Install Independent HVAC and

Electrical Distribution Systems

Contractor: Krawford Construction Company Inc.

Reason for Increase: Additional change orders are anticipated to complete the

project, including installation of an underground telecommunications vault,

installation of underground conduit from the existing telecom pedestals to the new

underground vault, and from the vault directly to Government House, and

contingency for unforeseen changes to complete the project.

Contract Amount: $2,531,366.00

Amount of Increase: $747,441.16

Contract: Edmonton - Legislature Annex Building and Site Repurposing

Contractor: PCL Construction Management Inc.

Reason for Increase: While completing contract work, PCL Construction

Management (PCL) exposed extensive presence of hazardous materials in floor

leveling compound, covered mechanical shafts, windows and exterior spandrels,

increasing the amount of abatement required and changing methodology for

demolition. Three change orders totaling $163,668 are approved; three change orders

totaling $2,292,480 are pending approval; and additional changes estimated at

$1,140,000 are expected during the remaining work.

Contract Amount: $5,625,000.00

Contract: Edmonton - Muriel Stanley Venne Provincial Centre - Move AEMA from

POC to MSV (Relocation and Fit-Up)

Contractor: Krawford Construction Company Inc.

Reason for Increase: Additional change orders are anticipated to complete the

project, including audiovisual investigation and programming requirements, creation

of full broadcast studio, installation of omitted television, and contingency for

unforeseen changes to complete the project.

Contract Amount: $3,162,500.00

% Increase: 41%

Contract: Edmonton - Vista Seniors and Housing - Boiler Replacements

Contractor: Magnum Mechanical Systems Ltd.

Reason for Increase: Additional change orders up to $401,824 are anticipated to

complete the project, which include demolition of old equipment, full replacement of

the air handling unit and make-up air unit with new coil heated units, installation of

new boilers, air system commissioning and reuse and or addition of building

management system controls, demolition of existing furnaces, make-up air unit

venting and natural gas lines, installation of new coil heated make-up air unit and

furnaces, installation of new boiler and indirect water heaters, air system

commissioning and building management system connections to new equipment, and

contingency for unforeseen work required to complete the project.

Contract Amount: $1,066,723.00
