Order in Council 930/2017

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas pursuant to Order in Council O.C. 929/2017 Elizabeth Witmer was reappointed as full-time chair of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board effective May 17, 2017, for a period not exceeding three years.

Therefore, pursuant to subsection 162(3) of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, 1997 , during this reappointment, Elizabeth Witmer ,

shall be remunerated at the rate of $188,950 per annum ;

shall be eligible to participate in the pension plan and benefits plans applicable to senior management in the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board subject to the terms of these plans;

shall receive a car allowance of $6,750 per annum ; and

shall be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred while engaged in the business of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board in accordance with the relevant directives, guidelines and policies of Treasury Board and Management Board of Cabinet.

Furthermore , if the reappointment is terminated early, before the three-year period has lapsed, Elizabeth Witmer shall be paid either,

for the balance of the reappointment period; or

one year of remuneration,

whichever is lesser.
