Statute: Workers' Compensation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Labour and Workforce Development dated October 27, 2009, and pursuant to Sections 151, 152 and 153 of

Chapter 10 of the Acts of 1994-95, the Workers' Compensation Act, and

Section 18 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act, is pleased to: (

a) revoke the appointment of Andrew Holley of Bedford, Halifax Regional Municipality, as an employer member of the Board of Directors of the Workers' Compensation Board; (

b) appoint Phillip Veinotte of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality, as an employer member of the Board of Directors of the Workers' Compensation Board for a term of three (3) years commencing December 1, 2009; (

c) fix the remuneration for Phillip Veinotte at $300 per day for attendance at meetings of the Board of Directors of the Workers' Compensation Board, the attendance at committee meetings and meeting preparation days in addition to reimbursement for reasonable and necessary traveling and other expenses incurred in connection with the work of the Board; and (

d) in addition to the above-noted remuneration, if Phillip Veinotte Chairs a committee of the Board of Directors of the Workers' Compensation Board he shall receive an annual honorarium of $2,000 for each committee he chairs.
