BiU 23 BILL 23 1984 HOSPITALS AND MEDICAL CARE STATUTES AMENDMENT ACT, 1984 (Assented to . 1984) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent ofthe Legislative Assembly of Alberta, enacts as follows: Hospitals Act 1(1) The Hospitals Act is amended by this section.

(2) Section 72(

b) is amended by striking out "and to the extent that public funds are not available for the purpose". Provincial General Hospitals Act 2(1) The Provincial General Hospitals Act is amended by this section.

(2) Section 25(

b) is amended by striking out "and to the extent that public funds are not available for the purpose".

Explanatory Notes Hospitals Act 1(1) This

section will amend

chapter H-ll ofthe Revised Statutes of Alberta 1980.

(2) Section 72(

b) presently reads: 72 The objects of a foundation are (

b) subject to any prior trust conditions imposed on the use of the property and to the extent that public furuis are not available for the purpose, to hold, use and administer the property generally for main taining and enhancing hospital care for the people ofthe community served by the hospitals administered by the board, and, in particular to ftnance or assist in the ftnancing of the construction, equipping, operation, maintenance and management of those hospitals or facili ties forming part of those hospitals, and Provincial General Hospitals Act 2(1) This

section will amend

chapter P-21 ofthe Revised Statutes of Alberta 1980.

(2) Section 25(

section 14: 14.1 Except as otherwise provided in this Act, Parts 2 and 3 of the Hospitals Act apply to the operation of a hospital. In accordance with

section 4(1) ofthe

Interpretation Act, this Bill comes into force on the date it receives Royal Assent.
