Order in Council 484/2018

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas the Justices of the Peace Remuneration Commission (“the Commission”) is established under

Section 21.1 of the Justices of the Peace Act and its composition and functions are set out in Ontario Regulation 319/00 made under that Act;

And

Whereas the President of the Treasury Board has been assigned the powers, duties, functions and responsibilities of the Chair of Management Board of Cabinet in respect of the Justices of the Peace Act and in particular in respect of Ontario Regulation 319/00 made under that Act;

And

Whereas the Association of Justices of the Peace of Ontario and the President of the Treasury Board have jointly agreed that the members of the 7 th and 8 th Commission should sit concurrently to make recommendations regarding the remuneration of justices of the peace for the period starting on April 1, 2015 and ending on March 31, 2019 in respect of the 7 th Commission and for the period starting on April 1, 2019 and ending on March 31, 2023 in respect of the 8 th Commission;

And

Whereas the President of the Treasury Board has selected Carolyn L. Kay, to be a member of the Commission;

Therefore pursuant to

Section 2 of Ontario Regulation 319/00,

Carolyn L. Kay, of the Town of Whitby

is appointed as a member of the Commission for two consecutive terms of four years each beginning on October 1, 2014 and ending on September 30, 2022.
