Interpretation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated April 9, 2015, and pursuant to

Section 7 of

Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act,

Section 10 of

Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act,

Section 18 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act and all authority in him vested, is pleased to, effective April 9, 2015: (

a) revoke the appointment of Dr. Peter Vaughan as Deputy Minister of Seniors; (

b) appoint Simon d’Entremont as Deputy Minister of Seniors with responsibility for Sport and Recreation and Executive Lead, Health Quality and Innovation; (

c) designate Simon d’Entremont as a deputy head within the meaning of the Civil Service Act ; (

d) fix and determine the salary of Simon d’Entremont to be to be at such rate as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier in accordance with the Senior Officials Pay Plan as it applies to Deputy Ministers; and (

e) direct that Simon d’Entremont shall receive all customary benefits associated with the position of deputy head including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan and such other benefits as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier.
