B.C. Reg. 100/2018 , deposited May 18, 2018, under the JURY ACT [section 34] and the SHERIFF ACT [section 15]. Order in Council 247/2018, approved and ordered May 18, 2018.

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that

(

a) the Jury Regulation, B.C. Reg. 282/95, is amended as set out in the attached

Schedule 1, and

(

b) the Sheriff Powers, Duties and Responsibilities Regulation, B.C. Reg. 263/2009, is amended as set out in the attached

Schedule 2.

Schedule 1

Section 4 (

b) of the Jury Regulation, B.C. Reg. 282/95, is repealed and the following substituted:

(

b) an employee of the Ministry of Attorney General with the exception of an employee of the Liquor Distribution Branch;

(b.1) an employee of the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General.

Schedule 2

Section 2 (1) (

g) of the Sheriff Powers, Duties and Responsibilities Regulation, B.C. Reg. 263/2009, is repealed and the following substituted:

(

g) protecting the safety of judges, crown counsel, witnesses, coroners, staff of administrative tribunals listed in the Schedule, employees of the Ministry of Attorney General and employees of the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General outside a court facility; .
