B.C. Reg. 378/2010 , deposited December 21, 2010, pursuant to the PARK ACT [Sections 29 and 29.2]. Ministerial Order M368/2010, dated December 21, 2010.

I, Murray Coell, Minister of Environment, order that, effective January 1, 2011, the BC Parks Recreation User Fees Regulation, B.C. Reg. 136/2009, is amended as set out in the attached schedule.

Schedule

Section 1 of the BC Parks Recreation User Fees Regulation, B.C. Reg. 136/2009, is amended

(

a) by adding the following

definitions:

"adult" means a person 16 years of age or older;

"child" means a person under 16 years of age;

"group campsite" means a campsite developed by the ministry to accommodate a group or a youth group; ,

(

b) in the definition of " party " by striking out " are 16 years old or older " and substituting " is an adult ", and

(

c) by repealing the definition of " youth group " and substituting the following:

"youth group" means 12 or more persons

(

a) undertaking a camping trip or day use trip organized by a school, not-for-profit society or recreational centre operated by a municipality or regional district for the benefit of the members of the youth group who are under 19 years of age, and

(

b) supervised by a representative of the school, not-for-profit society or recreational centre who is 19 years of age or older; .

2 Table 1 in

section 3 is amended by repealing Items 3 and 4 and substituting the following as indicated:

$20 $120 per group campsite per night (base rate) plus $1 $5 per adult per night, and $1 $5 per child per night. Minimum fee per group campsite per night : the base rate plus the fee for 15 adults.

use of a group campsite by a youth group

$1 $2 per person per night. Minimum fee per group campsite per night : $50. Maximum fee per group campsite per night : $150.

3 Table 2 in

section 4 is amended

(

a) by repealing Items 1 to 3 and 7 to 9, and

(

b) by repealing Item 5 and substituting the following as indicated:

Section 13 is repealed and the following substituted:

Off season camping fees for seniors

(1) Subject to

section 12, if a party includes at least one senior and all the other adults in the party, if any, are either seniors or spouses of seniors in the party, the fee for the use of a frontcountry campsite during the off season

(

a) is calculated at one half of the summer season frontcountry camping fee established by regulation or directive of the minister for that campsite, or

(

b) is the off season frontcountry camping fee established by regulation or directive of the minister for that campsite,

whichever is lower.

(2) Subsection (1) does not apply to the use of a group campsite.
