Reg. 420/2008 , deposited December 12, 2008, pursuant to the HEALTH PROFESSIONS ACT [Section 12]; HEALTH PROFESSIONS AMENDMENT ACT, 2003 [Section 59]; HEALTH STATUTES AMENDMENT ACT, 2006 [Section 37]; CRIMINAL RECORDS REVIEW ACT [Section 29 (2) (c)]; CRIME VICTIM ASSISTANCE ACT [Section 26]; EMPLOYMENT AND ASSISTANCE ACT [Section 35]; EMPLOYMENT AND ASSISTANCE FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES ACT [Section 26]; EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS ACT [Section 127]; HEALTH CARE (CONSENT) AND CARE FACILITY (ADMISSION) ACT [Sections 1 and 34]; INSURANCE (VEHICLE) ACT [Section 45]; and the INSURANCE PREMIUM TAX ACT [Sections 1 and 41]. Order in Council 971/2008, approved and ordered December 12, 2008.

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that, effective March 1, 2009:

1 Sections 42, 49 (a), 51, 52, 57 and 58 (

a) of the Health Professions Amendment Act, 2003 , S.B.C. 2003, c. 57, are brought into force.

Section 1 (

b) of the Health Statutes Amendment Act, 2006, S.B.C. 2006, c. 23, is brought into force.

Section 7 of the Health Statutes Amendment Act, 2006 , insofar as it enacts

section 15.1 (1) and (5) of the Health Professions Act , is brought into force.

Schedule 2 of the Criminal Records Review Act , R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 86, is amended by deleting item 1.

5 The amendments set out in the attached Appendix are made.

Appendix

Crime Victim Assistance Act

Section 2 of the Crime Victim Assistance (General) Regulation, B.C. Reg. 161/2002, is amended

(

a) by repealing paragraph (a), and

(

b) in paragraph (

g) by repealing subparagraph (

i) and substituting the following:

(

i) chiropractor;

(i.1) dental hygienist; .

Employment and Assistance Act

Schedule C of the Employment and Assistance Regulation, B.C. Reg. 263/2002, is amended in Item 2 of the table in

section 2 (1) (

c) by striking out "British Columbia College of Chiropractors under the Chiropractors Act " and substituting "College of Chiropractors of British Columbia under the Health Professions Act ".

Employment and Assistance for Persons with Disabilities Act

Schedule C of the Employment and Assistance for Persons with Disabilities Regulation, B.C. Reg. 265/2002, is amended in Item 2 of the table in

section 2 (1) (

c) by striking out "British Columbia College of Chiropractors under the Chiropractors Act " and substituting "College of Chiropractors of British Columbia under the Health Professions Act ".

Employment Standards Act

Section 31 of the Employment Standards Regulation, B.C. Reg. 396/95, is amended by repealing paragraph (

d) and substituting the following:

(

d) a registrant of the College of Chiropractors of British Columbia continued under the Health Professions Act , .

Health Care (Consent) and Care Facility (Admission) Act

Section 3 of the Health Care Consent Regulation, B.C. Reg. 20/2000, is amended by repealing paragraph (a).

Health Professions Act

Section 2 (3) of the Health Professions Designation Regulation, B.C. Reg. 270/2008, is amended by adding the following:

(

b) chiropractic; .

Insurance (Vehicle) Act

7 The definition of "chiropractor" in

section 78 of the Insurance (Vehicle) Regulation, B.C. Reg. 447/83, is amended by striking out "practise under the Chiropractors Act " and substituting "practise chiropractic under the Health Professions Act ".

Insurance Premium Tax Act

Section 1 (

b) of the Approved Plan Regulation, B.C. Reg. 143/2005, is amended by repealing subparagraph (ii).
