OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated December 17, 2014, and pursuant to Sections 7, 8 and 25IA of

Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act ,

Section 10 of

Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act , and all authority in him vested, is pleased to, effective January 1, 2015: (

a) revoke the appointment of David Darrow as Secretary to the Executive Council, Clerk of the Executive Council, Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier, Deputy Minister of Treasury and Policy Board and Chief Executive Officer of Communications Nova Scotia; (

b) revoke the designation of David Darrow as head of the Public Service; (

c) appoint David Darrow as Deputy Minister without portfolio until June 30, 2015; (

d) appoint Catherine Blewett as Secretary to the Executive Council, Clerk of the Executive Council, Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier, Deputy Minister of Treasury and Policy Board and Chief Executive Officer of Communications Nova Scotia; (

e) designate Catherine Blewett as head of the Public Service; (

f) designate Catherine Blewett as a deputy head within the meaning of the Civil Service Act ; (

g) fix and determine the salary of Catherine Blewett to be at such rate as may be determined by the Executive Council in accordance with the Senior Officials Pay Plan as it applies to Deputy Ministers; and (

h) direct that Catherine Blewett shall receive all customary benefits associated with the position of deputy head including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan and such other benefits as may be determined by the Executive Council.
