EXPLANATORY NOTE NOTE EXPLICATIVE To operate a cannabis store in Manitoba, a person must enter into an agreement with the Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries Corporation or the minister specified in the Act. This Bill amends The Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act to make it a term of the agreement that the operator of a cannabis store must pay to the government a social responsibility fee.

section that the person with whom the agreement is entered into must pay to the government, at the time and in the manner specified in the agreement, a social responsibility fee in respect of the person's sales of cannabis in 2020 and in each year after that. Amount of fee 101.3(4) The amount of the social responsibility fee is (

a) the prescribed amount; or (
