OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated July 27, 2011, and pursuant to Sections 7 and 24 of
Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act,
Section 18 of
Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the
Interpretation Act,
Section 2 of
Chapter 377 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Superannuation Act,
Section 10 of
Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act, and all authority in him vested, is pleased to: (
a) appoint Sandra McKenzie as Acting Deputy Minister of Economic and Rural Development and Tourism, effective August 22, 2011; (
b) appoint Scott Logan as Acting Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, effective August 1, 2011; (
c) appoint Ernest Walker as Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Aboriginal Affairs, effective August 1, 2011; (
d) designate Sandra McKenzie, Scott Logan and Ernest Walker as deputy heads within the meaning of the Civil Service Act; (
e) fix and determine the salary of Sandra McKenzie, Scott Logan and Ernest Walker to be at such rate as may be determined by the Deputy Minister to the Office of the Premier; (
f) direct that Sandra McKenzie, Scott Logan and Ernest Walker shall receive all customary benefits associated with the position of deputy head including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan and such other benefits as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier; and (
g) designate Sandra McKenzie, Scott Logan and Ernest Walker to be and to have been employees for the purposes of the Public Service Superannuation Act.
