OIC Text: The Governor in Council, on the report and recommendation of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice dated July 11, 2023, and pursuant to
Section 5 of
Chapter 21 of the Acts of 1990, the Public Prosecutions Act,
Section 18 of
Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the
Interpretation Act, and
Section 10 of
Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act, is pleased to:
a) appoint Karen Hudson, K.C. as Acting Director of Public Prosecutions for a term of one (1) year, effective July 24, 2023;
b) designate Karen Hudson, K.C. as a deputy head within the meaning of the Civil Service Act ;
c) fix the salary of Karen Hudson, K.C. at the level of the Director of Public Prosecutions; and
d) direct that benefits and other terms and conditions of the appointment for Karen Hudson, K.C. be outlined by contract.
