Interpretation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister responsible for the Human Rights Act dated December 15, 2015, and pursuant to

Section 26 of

Chapter 214 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Human Rights Act , and

Section 18 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act , is pleased, effective February 8, 2016, to: (

a) revoke the appointment of M. Michelle Higgins as Acting Director of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission, made by Order in Council 2015-238, dated July 23, 2015; (

b) appoint Christine Hanson as Director of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission for a term of three years; (

c) fix the salary of Christine Hanson at $147,054; (

d) direct that Christine Hanson receive benefits as outlined in her contract of employment; and (

e) designate Christine Hanson to be and to have been an employee for the purposes of the Public Service Superannuation Act .
