B.C. Reg. 293/2003, deposited July 25, 2003, pursuant to the FREEDOM OF INFORMATION AND PROTECTION OF PRIVACY

ACT [Section 76 (2) (h)]. Order in Council 753/2003, approved and ordered July 24, 2003.

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that

section 3 of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Regulation, B.C. Reg. 323/93, is repealed and the following substituted:

Who can act for young people and others

3 The right to access a record under

section 4 of the Act, the right to request correction of personal information under

section 29 of the Act or the right to consent to disclosure of personal information under

section 33 of the Act may be exercised as follows:

(

a) on behalf of an individual under 19 years of age, by the individual's parent or guardian if the individual is incapable of exercising those rights;

(

b) on behalf of an individual who has a committee, by the individual's committee;

(

c) on behalf of a deceased individual, by the deceased's nearest relative or personal representative. — S. SANTORI , Minister of Management Services; M. R. COELL , Presiding Member of the Executive Council.
