OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister responsible for the Human Rights Act dated May 17, 2022, and pursuant to

Section 22 of

Chapter 214 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Human Rights Act, is pleased to: (

a) reappoint Cheryl Knockwood of Cape Breton Regional Municipality (Sydney) as Commissioner and designate her as Chair of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission, for a term of three (3) years commencing July 29, 2022; (

b) order that Cheryl Knockwood be remunerated at the rate of $6,000.00 per year and $100.00 for each half day spent at duly called meetings of the Commission and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling her duties as Commissioner and Chair of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally paid to members of the civil service; (

c) reappoint Cynthia Dorrington of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax) as Commissioner on the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission, for a term of three (3) years commencing July 29, 2022; (

d) order that Cynthia Dorrington be remunerated at the rate of $100.00 for each half day spent at duly called meetings of the Commission and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling her duties as a Commissioner on the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally paid to members of the civil service.
