Statute: Rural District Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing dated October 12, 2021, and pursuant to

Section 56 of

Chapter 406 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Rural Fire District Act , is pleased to declare by proclamation that, on and after November 9, 2021: (

a) that the provisions of the Rural Fire District Act shall apply to The Commissioners for Fire Protection for the District of Western Shore & District, in lieu of the provisions of

Chapter 92 of the Acts of 1962,

An Act to Enable the Inhabitants of the Districts of Western Shore, Gold River and Martin’s Point to Provide Themselves with a System of Fire Protection ; and (

b) that the name of the body corporate shall continue to be that prescribed by

Chapter 93 of the Acts of 1982,

An Act to Change the Name of the Commissioners for Fire Protection for the District of Western Shore, Gold River, Martin’s Point and to Amend

Chapter 92 of the Acts of 1962,

An Act to Enable the Inhabitants of the Districts of Western Shore, Gold River and Martin’s Point to Provide Themselves with a System of Fire Protection .
