Order in Council 1089/2021

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas subsection 89(1) of the Courts of Justice Act authorizes the appointment of a Children’s Lawyer for Ontario by the Lieutenant Governor in Council;

And

whereas , by Order in Council O.C. 1759/2016 effective November 16, 2016, Marian Jacko of Mississauga was appointed as the Children’s Lawyer for Ontario to serve at the pleasure of the Lieutenant Governor in Council;

And

whereas Marian Jacko will be temporarily unable to act in that position;

Now therefore , pursuant to subsection 89(1) of the Courts of Justice Act ,

Nicholas Hedley

be temporarily appointed as Children’s Lawyer for Ontario, to serve at the pleasure of the Lieutenant Governor in Council effective the date of this Order in Council for a period ending on the earlier of August 5, 2022 or the effective date of the revocation of this Order in Council.
