B.C. Reg. 49/2025 , deposited April 8, 2025, under the RESIDENTIAL TENANCY ACT [section 97]. Order in Council 165/2025, approved and ordered April 8, 2025.

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that, effective June 18, 2025, the Residential Tenancy Regulation, B.C. Reg. 477/2003, is amended as set out in the attached Schedule.

Schedule

1 Sections 42.2 and 42.3 of the Residential Tenancy Regulation, B.C. Reg. 477/2003, are amended by striking out "

section 49 (5) " and substituting "

section 49 (3), (4) or (5) ".

2 The following

section is added to

Part 7:

Transition –

section 49 (3) or (4) of Act

42.5 In respect of a notice given by a landlord under

section 49 (2) of the Act for a purpose referred to in

section 49 (3) or (4) of the Act, if the landlord gave the notice before June 18, 2025, the notice period and the dispute period that applied in respect of the notice immediately before that date continue to apply.
