OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Natural Resources dated March 23, 2016, and pursuant to subsection 7(

a) of

Chapter 114 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Crown Lands Act , is pleased to approve the Minister of Natural Resources: (

a) acquiring approximately 3,241.9 hectares (8,010.75 acres) of land at various locations in Kings, Lunenburg, Shelburne, Queens, and Annapolis Counties, Nova Scotia shown outlined in bold on the maps marked Schedules “A” through “I”, which are attached to and form part of the Report and Recommendation, from Harry Freeman and Son Limited, its successors and assigns for a purchase price of $3,604,216.47 plus any legal, appraisal, survey, and other costs incurred by the Minister in respect of the purchase, with a grand total not to exceed $4 million, subject to the following conditions: i. that all proceeds derived from the sale be paid to Nova Scotia Business Inc. to pay down debt owed by Harry Freeman and Son Limited to the Province; and ii. that Harry Freeman and Son Limited, its successors and assigns, be able to certify title to the land in a manner deemed sufficient by the Department of Justice; and

b) executing such documents as may be necessary to achieve the purposes of this Order.
