Order in Council 1346/2019

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas Order in Council numbered O.C. 643/2019 established the Ontario Provincial Police Independent Review Panel “(Independent Review Panel”) effective May 2, 2019 (the “Establishment OIC ”);

And

whereas it is desirable to amend the Establishment OIC to provide for the extension of the term of appointment of the Independent Review Panel members and to extend the deadline by which the Independent Review Panel’s report is required to be submitted to the Solicitor General;

Therefore pursuant to the prerogative of her Majesty the Queen in Right of Ontario sections 2 and 10 of the Establishment OIC are hereby deleted and replaced with the following:

Members of the Independent Review Panel will be appointed to serve at the pleasure of the Lieutenant Governor in Council for a term required to fulfill the requirements of this Order, such term not to extend beyond December 31, 2019.

The Independent Review Panel will deliver a final report containing findings, conclusions and recommendations, including an implementation plan for any such recommendations, to the Solicitor General on or before November 29, 2019.
