OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture dated July 6, 2006, and pursuant to clause 7(1)(
d) of
Chapter 113 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Crop and Livestock Insurance Act, and Sections 2 and 3 of the Arbitration Proceedings Regulations, is pleased to: (
a) designate Dale Dunlop, Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality, as Chair of the Nova Scotia Crop and Livestock Insurance Arbitration Board effective July 24, 2006, for the remainder of his term of office as a member which ends April 13, 2008; (
b) determine the rate of remuneration for carrying out duties as Chair to be $150 per day; (
c) determine that reasonable expenses necessarily incurred by the Chair in carrying out board duties shall be paid in accordance with Provincial Government policy; (
d) determine that as a condition of appointment, Dale Dunlop shall be bound by the principles and purposes of the Corporate Code of Conduct for Civil Servants and
Chapter 4 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1991, the Members and Public Employees Disclosure Act; and (
e) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Dale Dunlop, and indemnify him from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of activities in relation to his appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends him, the Province will be in control of the case.
