Statute: Sydney Steel Corporation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister responsible for the Sydney Steel Corporation Act , dated November 28, 2017, and pursuant to Sections 8 and 11 of

Chapter 456 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Sydney Steel Corporation Act , is pleased to: (

a) revoke the following appointments: (

i) Jeff Conrad as Chair of the Board of Directors of Sydney Steel Corporation, which appointment was made by Order in Council 2014-490 dated December 2, 2014; (ii) Gary Campbell as President and CEO of Sydney Steel Corporation and a member of the Sydney Steel Corporation Board of Directors, which appointments were made by Orders in Council 2008-260 and 2014-49, dated May 13, 2008 and February 18, 2014, respectively; (iii) Byron Rafuse as member of the Sydney Steel Corporation Board of Directors, which appointment was made by Order in Council 2014-49 dated February 18, 2014; (

b) make the following appointments for a term of five years each effective December 12, 2017: (

i) Paul LaFleche of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax) as Chair of the Board of Directors of Sydney Steel Corporation; (ii) Stephen MacIsaac of Hebville, Lunenburg County, as President and CEO of Sydney Steel Corporation; (iii) Robert Bourgeois of Halifax Regional Municipality (Dartmouth) as a member of the Board of Director of Sydney Steel Corporation; and (iv) Diane Saurette of Halifax Regional Municipality (Dartmouth) as a member of the Board of Directors of Sydney Steel Corporation.
