CHAPTER

An Act to amend The Universities Commission Act. [Assented to May 4, 1979.] H ER Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows: 1. This Act may be cited as The Universities Commission Amend ment Act, 19 79. 2. The Universities Commission Act is amended in the manner set forth in this Act. 3. - (1) Subsection 3 (3) is repealed and the following substituted: "

(3) One of the members of the commission shall be designated as chairman of the commission and shall hold his appointment at the pleasure of the Lieutenant Governor in Council". (2) Subsection 3(5) is repealed and the following substituted: "

(5) A member of the commission, other than the chairman, shall be appointed for a term of three years and may be reappointed for a second term, but no such member who has served two terms is eligible for further appointment for a period of at least one year from the day on which his second term expired". 4. The following subsection is added after subsection 5 (3): "

(4) For the purposes of subsection (3), the chairman of the commission is deemed to be an employee of the commission". 1
