OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Communities, Culture and Heritage dated March 28, 2014, and pursuant to

Section 10 of

Chapter 254 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Libraries Act , is pleased to: (

a) revoke the appointment of Dennis Stavrou as member of the Pictou- Antigonish Regional Library Board, which appointment was made by Order in Council 2013-127 dated April 2, 2013; (

b) appoint Jack Beaton of Antigonish, Antigonish County and John Blackwell of Antigonish, Antigonish County as members of the Pictou-Antigonish Regional Library Board, each for a three year term commencing on May 6, 2014; and (

c) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Jack Beaton and John Blackwell in their capacity as members of the Pictou-Antigonish Regional Library Board and indemnify them from personal liability in connection with any such claims, provided, however, that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointments, and is not based on fraud or criminal activity, and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.
