OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the Report and Recommendation of the Minister of Justice dated February 22, 2012, and pursuant to
Section 26DA of
Chapter 31 of the Acts of 2004, the Police Act,
Section 8 of
Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the
Interpretation Act, and clause 2(d) (iii) of
Chapter 377 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Superannuation Act, is pleased to: (
a) appoint Terry Balleine as an investigator for the Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT)for a term of five (5) years, effective April 2, 2012; (
b) appoint Keith Stothart as an investigator for the Serious Incident Response Team for a term of five (5) years, effective April 2, 2012; (
c) fix the remuneration of Terry Balleine and Keith Stothart in an amount equivalent to Excluded Classification Pay Plan EC12,(100%), currently approximately $85,907.38 annually, subject to all applicable enactments, regulations, and policies of the Public Service Commission with respect to non-bargaining unit civil servants including applicable merit and pay structure adjustments; (
d) order that Civil Service benefits be extended to Terry Balleine and Keith Stothart as SIRT investigators on the same terms and conditions as they are extended to non-bargaining unit civil servants. (
e) direct that Terry Balleine and Keith Stothart shall receive all the customary benefits of an employee under the Excluded Classification Pay Plan (EC12), including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan; and (
f) designate Terry Balleine and Keith Stothart to be and to have been an employee for the purposes of the Public Service Superannuation Act.
