Statute: Occupational Health and Safety Act Workers’ Compensation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Labour, Skills and Immigration dated October 18, 2022, and pursuant to

Section 10 of

Chapter 7 of the Acts of 1996, the Occupational Health and Safety Act , and clause 115(1)(d), subsections 115(7) and 269(1), and

Section 272 of

Chapter 10 of the Acts of 1994-95, the Workers’ Compensation Act , is pleased to: (

a) order that $11,899,101.09 shall be paid into the General Revenue Fund of the Province of Nova Scotia from the Accident Fund by the Workers’ Compensation Board for the purpose of paying part of the costs of administering the Occupational Health and Safety Act , including part of the costs of the Occupational Health and Safety Division of the Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration and costs of education and research related to occupational health and safety for the fiscal year 2021-2022; (

b) order that $3,049,553.45 is approved and shall be paid into the General Revenue Fund of the Province of Nova Scotia from the Accident Fund by the Workers’ Compensation Board for the purpose of paying the costs of the Workers’ Advisers Program for the fiscal year 2021-2022, other than the costs of funding provided to organizations designated pursuant to clause 272(

a) of the Workers’ Compensation Act; and (

c) order that $216,000 is approved and shall be paid into the General Revenue Fund of the Province of Nova Scotia from the Accident Fund by the Workers’ Compensation Board for the purpose of paying the costs of funding provided to organizations designated pursuant to clause 272(

a) of the Workers’ Compensation Act for the fiscal year 2021-2022.
