OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Natural Resources and Renewables dated February 28, 2022, and pursuant to clause 7(
a) of
Chapter 114 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Crown Lands Act , is pleased to approve the Minister of Natural Resources and Renewables:
a) acquiring Birch Island, located in Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia, and currently identified as PID 60141041 (having an area of approximately 6.5 hectares or 16 acres) as shown outlined in bold on the map marked
Schedule “A” attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation, from Jennifer McLaughlin Fotheringham, or her executors, heirs, trustees, administrators or approved successors or assigns, for a purchase price of $400,000.00 (plus HST, if applicable) of which $250,000.00 will be paid by the Province and $150,000.00 will be paid by the Mahone Islands Conservation Association, provided that Jennifer McLaughlin Fotheringham or her executors, heirs, trustees, administrators, or approved successors or assigns, is able to certify title to the land in a manner deemed sufficient by the Department of Justice; and
b) executing such documents as may be necessary to achieve the purposes of this Order.
