Statute: Peggy's Cove Commission Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Heritage dated November 4, 2009, and pursuant to

Section 4 of

Chapter 339 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Peggy's Cove Commission Act, is pleased to: (

a) appoint Murray Garrison of Peggy's Cove, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Peggy's Cove Commission for a term of two years commencing December 15, 2009; (

b) designate Murray Garrison as Chairperson of the Peggy's Cove Commission; (

c) appoint John Parker of Tantallon, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Peggy's Cove Commission for a term of two years commencing December 15, 2009; (

d) authorize the payment of $50 per half day of attendance at meetings plus reasonable expenses for the Chairperson of the Commission, and $35.00 per half day of attendance at meetings plus reasonable expenses for other members of the Commission; and (

e) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against the above appointees of the Peggy's Cove Commission and indemnify them from personal liability in connection with any such claim, provided, however, that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.
