CHAPTER

An Act to amend The Education Act (Assented to May 26, 1986) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows: 1 This Act may be cited as The Education Amendment Act, 1986. 373

Short title The Education Act is amended in the manner set forth in R.s.s. 1978 this Act. ~~E!'cr.i' 3 Subsection 7(2) is repealed. 4 The following clause is added after clause 125(1) (e.1): "(e.2) appoint, in consultation with the board of trustees, a returning officer". 5 Clause 146(

f) is repealed and the following substituted: "(

f) a parent or guardian of a pupil, where the pupil is dependent on the parent or guardian". 6(1) Subsection 279(1) is repealed. (2) Subsection 279(2) is repealed and the substituted: following "

(2) The Minister of Urban Affairs or the Minister of Rural Development, as the case may require, may in each year: (

a) determine the equalized assessment for each municipality; and (

b) not later than March 15, send to the board of education a statement of the current assessment and the equalized assessment for each municipality". (3) Subsections 279(6) and (7) are repealed. 1
