OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries dated March 22, 2005, pursuant to Sections 25, 26 and 27 of
Chapter 25 of the Acts of 1996, the Fisheries and Coastal Resources Act, is pleased to: (
a) appoint Roy J. Surette of Church Point, Digby County, as a member of the Nova Scotia Fisheries and Aquaculture Loan Board for a term of office of three years commencing April 28, 2005; (
b) determine the rate of remuneration for carrying out duties as a member to be $100 per day; (
c) determine that reasonable expenses necessarily incurred by the member in carrying out his duties shall be paid in accordance with Provincial Government policy; (
d) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Roy J. Surette and indemnify him from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of activities in relation to his appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends, the Province will be in control of the case; and (
e) determine, as a condition of appointment, that Roy J. Surette shall be bound by the principles and purposes of the Corporate Code of Conduct for Civil Servants and
Chapter 4 of the Acts of 1991, the Members and Public Employees Disclosure Act.
