EXPLANATORY NOTE NOTE EXPLICATIVE Currently, the board of directors of The Portage Di strict General Hospital Foundation consists of five people , two of whom are appointed by the City of Portage la Pra irie and two by the Rural Municipality of Portage la Pra irie. This Bill increases the number of directors to seve n. Each municipality is to appoint three of the directors.

WHEREAS The Portage District General Hospital Foundation was incorporated by

An Act to incorporate The Portage District General Hospital Foundation , S.M. 1986-87, c. 52; AND

WHEREAS the Foundation has presented a petition requesting the following amendments to tha t Act, and it is appropriate to grant the petition; Attendu : que la Fondation de l'Hôpital général du district Portage a été constituée en corporation par la Loi constituant en corporation la Fondation de l'Hôpital général du district Portage , c. 52 des L.M. 1986-87 ; que la Fondation a présenté une pétition demandant que la Loi soit modifiée de la façon qui suit et qu'il est jugé opportun d'accéder à cette demande, THEREFORE HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba , enacts as follows: SA MAJESTÉ, sur l'avis et avec le consentement de l'Assemblée législative du Manitoba, édicte : S.M. 1986-87, c. 52 amended 1

2 The title of the English version is replaced with " THE PORTAGE DISTRICT GENERAL HOSPITAL FOUNDATION INCORPORATION ACT ". 2 Le

titre de la version anglaise est remplacé par « THE PORTAGE DISTRICT GENERAL HOSPITAL FOUNDATION INCORPORATION ACT ». 3 Subsection 4(2) is amended (

a) in the part before clause (a), by striking out "five " and substituting " seven "; and (

b) in clauses (
