An Act to amend The Housing Act [Assented to April 5, 1956] Rev. Stat. c. 246, new

section 11k The Housing Act is amended by inserting after

section j, as enacted by

chapter of the statutes of 1955, the following section: Power of municipality to operate home for needy, aged, infirm or blind persons “11k Subject to

section of The Department of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Act but otherwise notwithstanding the provisions of any Act other than this Act, a municipality may by bylaw, approved by the Local Government Board before the final passing thereof, provide that the municipality may, either alone or in conjunction with other municipalities, acquire, or construct, and operate and maintain a home for the care of needy, aged, infirm or blind persons”. 1956, c.51, s.1.
