Interpretation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Acting Minister of Natural Resources dated September 4, 2013, and pursuant to clause 16(1)(

a) of

Chapter 114 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Crown Lands Act and clause 19(

f) of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act, is pleased to authorize the Minister of Natural Resources to: (

a) issue one or more grants or deeds to convey Crown land containing approximately 60 acres (24.3 hectares), located along the shore of the West River of Pictou, Pictou County, and that is shown shaded in dark grey on the plan marked

Schedule "A", which is attached to and forms part of the Report and Recommendation, to the owners of land lying adjacent to, and upland of, the Crown land, for the consideration of the appraised market value and any costs associated with the sale; (

b) convey the Crown land that is shown shaded in dark grey on the plan marked

Schedule "A", without the requirement of a repurchase option in favour of the Province and waiver of liability from the purchasers; (

c) revoke the repurchase option and waiver of liability in favour of Her Majesty from privately owned lands lying along the West River of Pictou, Pictou County that is shown in dark grey and identified in the legend as "Lands Disposed out of Doc No. 2600" on the plan marked

Schedule "B", which is attached to and forms part of the Report and Recommendation; and (

d) execute such documents as may be necessary to achieve the purposes of this
