Statute: Nova Scotia Agricultural College Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture dated December 20, 2010 and pursuant to Subsections 6(1), (2) and (3) and Subsections 8(1) and (2) of

Chapter 7 of the Acts of 2008, the Nova Scotia Agricultural College Act, is pleased to: (

a) reappoint Robert MacKay of Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality, as Member and Chair of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College Transitional Board, for a term of two years commencing February 25, 2011; (

b) reappoint Arnold Rovers of Truro, Colchester County, as a Member of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College Transitional Board, for a term of two years commencing February 25, 2011; (

c) reappoint Sarah Campbell of Truro, Colchester County, as a Member of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College Transitional Board, for a term of two years commencing February 25, 2011; (

d) reappoint Frazer Hunter of Merigomish, Pictou County, as a Member of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College Transitional Board, for a term of two years commencing February 25, 2011; (

e) appoint Les Haley of Bible Hill, Colchester County, as a Member of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College Transitional Board, for a term of two years commencing February 25, 2011; (

f) determine the rate of remuneration for carrying out duties of the Transitional Board Chair to be $15,000 per year plus expenses incurred, and that as a Member to be $5,000 per year plus expenses incurred; (

g) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate, or settle claims or charges made against the members of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College Transitional Board and indemnify them from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of activities in relation to their appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case; and (

h) determine, as a condition of appointment, that the members of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College Transitional Board shall be bound by the principles and purposes of Values, Ethics and Conduct: A Code for Nova Scotia's Public Servants, the Conflict of Interest Policy and

Chapter 4 of the Acts of 1991, the Members and Public Employees Disclosure Act.
