OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice dated February 9, 2022, and pursuant to

Section 5 of

Chapter 21 of the Acts of 1990, the Public Prosecutions Act ,

Section 18 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act , and

Section 10 of

Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act , is pleased to:

a) revoke the appointment of Martin E. Herschorn, Q.C., as Director of Public Prosecutions, made by Order in Council 2001-403 dated August 16, 2001;

b) appoint former Justice Linda Lee Oland as Acting Director of Public Prosecutions for a term commencing February 14, 2022 and ending July 31, 2022;

c) designate former Justice Linda Lee Oland as a deputy head within the meaning of the Civil Service Act ;

d) fix the salary of former Justice Linda Lee Oland at the level of the Director of Public Prosecutions; and

e) direct that benefits and other terms and conditions of former Justice Linda Lee Oland’s appointment be outlined by contract.
