OIC Text: The Governor in Council, on the report and recommendation of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice dated November 17, 2023, and pursuant to
Section 5 of
Chapter 21 of the Acts of 1990, the Public Prosecutions Act,
Section 18 of
Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the
Interpretation Act, and
Section 10 of
Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act , is pleased, effective November 23, 2023, to: (
a) revoke the appointment of Karen L. Hudson, K.C. as Acting Director of Public Prosecutions made by Order in Council 2023-205 dated July 19, 2023; (
b) appoint Eric Ralph Woodburn, K.C. as Acting Director of Public Prosecutions for a 6-month term; (
c) designate Eric Ralph Woodburn, K.C. as a deputy head within the meaning of the Civil Service Act ; (
d) fix the salary of Eric Ralph Woodburn, K.C. at the level of the Director of Public Prosecutions; and (
e) direct that benefits and other terms and conditions of the appointment of Eric Ralph Woodburn, K.C. be outlined by contract.
