Statute: Health Research Foundation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Health dated November 3, 2000, pursuant to Sections 6 and 7 of

Chapter 14 of the Acts of Nova Scotia, 1998, the Health Research Foundation Act, is pleased to: (

a) appoint the following persons as members of the Board of Directors of the Health Research Foundation, each for a term of office of three years commencing October 26, 2000 and ending October 25, 2003: Dr. Hugh A. Gillis of Antigonish, Antigonish County; Brian D. MacDougall of Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality; Brenda M. Montgomery of Deep Brook, Annapolis County; and Dr. Carol Amaratunga of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; (

b) appoint the following persons as members of the Board of Directors of the Health Research Foundation, each for a term of office of two years commencing October 26, 2000 and ending October 25, 2002: Dr. John Gainer of Sydney, Cape Breton Regional Municipality; Colleen T. Elliott of Truro, Colchester County; Dr. Thomas A. Rathwell of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; and Donna Meagher-Stewart of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; (

c) appoint the following persons as members of the Board of Directors of the Health Research Foundation, each for a term of office of one year commencing October 26, 2000 and ending October 25, 2001: Jennifer L. Feron of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; Harley G. Marchand of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; Dr. Cynthia Mathieson of Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality; and Dr. Thomas C. Larder of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; and (

d) appoint Dr. Hugh A. Gillis as Chair and Brenda M. Montgomery as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the Health Research Foundation, each for a term of three years commencing October 26, 2000 and ending October 25, 2003.
