Mar ch 25, 1996 - 11:45 a.m. B I L L N o. of A n Act to amend The Saskatchewan Medical Care Insurance Act ( Assented to , 1996) HE R MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows: Sh ort title This Act may be cited as The Saskatchewan Medical Care Insurance Amendment Act, 1996 . R .S.S. 1978, c.S-29 amended The Saskatchewan Medical Care Insurance Act is amended in the manner set forth in this Act. S ection repealed

section 47.1 The following

section is added before

section 48: ARegulations with respect to payments 47.1(1) The Lieutenant Governor in Council may make regulations requiring the minister or any other person to: (

a) annually deduct from payments being made to a physician by the minister or that other person, an amount determined in an agreement made pursuant to

section 48.1 for services rendered by the Saskatchewan Medical Association on behalf of Saskatchewan physicians; and (

b) pay the amount deducted, as described in clause (a), to the Saskatchewan Medical Assoc iation.

(2) A regulation made pursuant to subsection (1) is not rendered invalid by the expiration of the agreement pu rsuant to which it was made@. C oming into force This Act comes into force on assent. 77
