B.C. Reg. 313/2002, deposited November 29, 2002, pursuant to the EMPLOYMENT AND ASSISTANCE FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES ACT [Sections 16 (5) and 26]. Order in Council 1032/2002, approved and ordered November 28, 2002.

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that, effective December 1, 2002, the Employment and Assistance for Persons with Disabilities Regulation, B.C. Reg. 265/2002, is amended as follows:

1 The following

section is added:

Confirmed job supplement

54.1 The minister may provide a supplement of up to a maximum of $1 000 to or for a family unit that is eligible for disability assistance or hardship assistance if

(

a) a recipient in the family unit obtains confirmed employment that, in the opinion of the minister, will enable the family unit to become independent of disability assistance or hardship assistance,

(

b) in the opinion of the minister, the recipient requires transportation, clothing, tools or other employment-related items in order to commence the employment, and

(

c) there are no resources available to the family unit to cover the cost.

Section 73 (1) is amended by adding the following paragraph:

(

e) confirmed job supplements under

section 54.1. — M. COELL, Minister of Human Resources; S. BOND, Presiding Member of the Executive Council.
