OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Transportation and Public Works dated October 1, 1999, pursuant to subsection 21(1) of
Chapter 371 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Highways Act, and to
Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the
Interpretation Act, is pleased to: (
i) designate as a controlled access highway, a new portion of highway, to be known as Highway 104, Trans Canada Highway, in the County of Pictou, beginning at its western point of merging with the centreline of existing Highway 104 near the West River Station Road underpass in Salt Springs, and extending in an easterly direction, a distance of approximately fifteen thousand (15,000) metres to its eastern point of merging with the centreline of existing Highway 104 in Alma, 600 metres east of the Highway 104 and Highway 106 interchange, together with its interchanges, intersections, ramps, loops, and connectors, including sixty (60) metres of each approach road, and sixty (60) metres of any public roads accessing this designated piece of highway; and (ii) designate as controlled access highways, a portion of highway known as the Salt Springs Connector (Authority 9005), in the County of Pictou, a portion of highway, known as the Pleasant Valley Road (Authority 0833), in the County of Pictou, and a portion of highway, known as the Cowan Street (Authority 0644), in the County of Pictou, and a portion of highway, known as Highway 104, to be renamed Trunk 4 (Authority 0104, to be renumbered 0004), in the County of Pictou, affected through interchanges with the new portions of highway identified in (
i) above.
