Statute: Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Health dated October 18, 2007, and pursuant to

Section 65 of

Chapter 42 of the Acts of 2005, the Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act, is pleased to: (

a) appoint the following persons as psychiatrist members of the Review Board for terms commencing October 22, 2007 and expiring March 31, 2010: Dr. Alistair Munro of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; Dr. Sonia Chehil of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; (

b) appoint the following persons as psychiatrist members of the Review Board for terms commencing October 22, 2007 and ending March 31, 2009: Dr. Stanley Kutcher of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; Dr. Patricia Pearce of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; (

c) appoint the following persons as psychiatrist members of the Review Board for terms commencing October 22, 2007 and ending March 31, 2008: Dr. Lawrence Buffett of Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality; Dr. Paul Reynolds of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; (

d) appoint the following persons as lay members of the Review Board for terms commencing October 22, 2007 and expiring March 31, 2009: Andy Cox of RR#1 Milford Station, Halifax Regional Municipality: Bruce Miller of Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality; Susan Torrens of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; (

e) appoint the following persons as lay members of the Review Board for terms commencing October 22, 2007 and expiring on March 31, 2008: Rev. Ruth Main of Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality; Lynn MacLellan of Wellington, Halifax Regional Municipality; Lea McQuaig of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; Stephen Ayer of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; (

f) appoint the following persons as lawyer members of the Review Board for terms commencing October 22, 2007 and expiring March 31, 2009: Anne Jackman of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; Mark Dempsey of Bridgewater, Lunenburg County; Joanne Bury of Sambro, Halifax Regional Municipality; Gilles Deveau of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; Jan F. McKenzie Q.C. of RR #3 Bridgewater, Lunenburg County; Marion Millet of Kentville, Kings County; David Muise of Sydney, Cape Breton Regional Municipality; Valerie L. Paul of Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality; Robert Stewart Q.C. of Berwick, Kings County; (

g) appoint the following person as a lawyer member of the Review Board for a term commencing October 22, 2007 and expiring March 31, 2008: Esmeralda M.A. Thornhill of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; (

h) designate Anne Jackman of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality, as Chairperson of the Review Board for a term commencing October 22, 2007 and expiring March 31, 2009.
