Statute: Workers' Compensation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Labour and Advanced Education dated September 9, 2020, and pursuant to Sections 35A and 184 of

Chapter 10 of the Acts of 1994-95, the Workers' Compensation Act (the “Act”), is pleased, (

a) pursuant to subsection 35A(5) of the Act, to amend the Firefighters' Compensation Regulations , N.S. Reg.140/2003, made by the Governor in Council by Order in Council 2003-341 dated August 1, 2003, to clarify a reference to a disease presumed to be an occupational disease related to employment as a firefighter, in the manner set forth in

Schedule “A” attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation, effective on and after October 29, 2020; and (

b) pursuant to

Section 184 of the Act, to amend the Workers' Compensation General Regulations , N. S. Reg. 22/1996, made and approved by the Governor in Council by Order in Council 96-59 dated January 31, 1996, to make administrative changes, in the manner set forth in

Schedule “C” attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation, effective on and after October 30, 2020.
