OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture dated November 6, 2009, and pursuant to

Section 3 of

Chapter 7 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Agriculture and Rural Credit Act, is pleased to: (

a) appoint Stephen Healy as Member and designate him as Vice Chair of the Nova Scotia Farm Loan Board for a three year term of office commencing December 15, 2009; (

b) determine the rate of remuneration for carrying out duties as Vice Chair/Member of the Nova Scotia Farm Loan Board to be $100 per day; (

c) determine that reasonable expenses necessarily incurred by the Vice Chair/Member in carrying out his duties shall be paid to the member in accordance with Provincial Government policy; (

d) bind Stephen Healy, as a condition of his appointment, by the principles and purposes of the Corporate Code of Conduct for Civil Servants and

Chapter 4 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1991, the Members and Public Employees Disclosure Act; and (

e) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate, or settle claims or charges made against Stephen Healy and indemnify him from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of activities in relation to his appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends him, the Province will be in control of the case.
