EXPLANATORY

NOTE

The

Bill amends the Time Act to make the time now

called daylight saving time the standard time year-round.

Act to amend the Time Act

Her

Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the

Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:

(1) Subsection 2 (1) of the Time Act is

amended by striking out “five” and substituting “four”.

(2) Subsection

2 (2) of the Act is amended by striking out “six” and substituting “five”.

(3) Subsections

2 (3), (4) and (5) of the Act are repealed.

Commencement

This Act comes into force on the later of November 1, 2020 and the day it

receives Royal Assent.

Short

title

The

short title of this Act is the Sunshine Protection Act,

2019 .
